My school caters for two types of Syllabuses. Once a student joins my class, they will follow either the:
Speech and Drama Syllabus OR Public Speaking Syllabus
In classes, they will work on understanding literature (Shakespeare, Australian & British poets), poem recital, characterisation, writing and presenting speeches as well as memorisation. Effective breathing methods and communication skills e.g. articulation, pronunciation, posture and eye contact are all elements embedded into my lessons. During the mid-year, students will participate in Eisteddfods (competition), where they will perform a poem/character or reading to an adjudicator and audience, and may be awarded, 1st, 2nd, 3rd or highly commended. This is to give students practice throughout the year and a confidence boost for their final exam. These competitions are generally held in Castle hill & Dundas.
At the end of the year, students will have prepared criteria to perform and present in an IMEB examination. These exams are the official International Music & Examination Board which start from Pre Grade 1 all the way to their final grade (Diploma). Once a child gets to Grades 6, 7, 8 & Diploma, they are required to complete a written exam as well.
To find which syllabus best suits your child, click on the links below and have a read of the syllabus. Based on your child’s age and schooling grade, I will place them into a grade that best fits.
