Where my journey began!

Becoming a teacher has been a passion of mine since a very young age. I always knew this is what I wanted to be. The idea of building a platform for students to become whoever they want to be sounded like the most rewarding career I could have. Graduating from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Education and a Bachelor of Primary Education, I have entered the schooling system with an open and dynamic mindset.

As a teacher, I would describe myself as bubbly, innovative and organised. Working as a full-time primary school teacher, full-time business owner and Speech and Drama educator is exactly how I envisioned my life to be at the age of 22. My experience in the teaching field and the workforce, in general, is vast. Starting off as a marker in Kumon centres, to working in real estate and coaching as a sports teacher in schools all around Sydney, was just the beginning. 

Speech and Drama has been in my life since the age of 4. As a quiet and timid little girl, I never used to enjoy speech and drama classes. However, as the years went on, I learn't to understand the importance of correct breathing and I felt these skills translate as confidence when I would meet new people in high school or speak in front of my grade as their house captain. In 2015, I graduated with a Performers Diploma in Speech and Drama, and in 2022, with a Licentiate (highest qualification of Speech and Drama) under the guidance of my mentor Merryl Lloyd. For the last 4 years, I have taken classes as a casual teacher for Merryl Lloyd Speech and Drama, building my experience as a Speech and Drama teacher. 

Speech and drama has changed my life for the better. It has opened my eyes to the opportunities this newfound confidence has given me. So I thought, if Ms Lloyd could mould me into the strong, independent woman I am today, why not try and help do the same for our future generations. 

This is why Ms G Speech and Drama was launched in 2021. To help our future generation find their voice, and provide them with a platform for their voices to be heard.
